This is a new Government Medical college coming up in the district of Coochbehar, West Bengal with up gradation of the existing Maharaja Jitendra Narayan Hospital, Coochbehar. It has started a humble beginning of its infrastructure in the year 2018. The institute is likely to start the admission of the students’ from the academic session 2019-20 provided the approval from the Medical Council of India is obtained.
This institute was inaugurated on 22nd February, 2019 by Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Smt Mamata Banerjee which will be observed as the "FOUNDATION DAY' every year.
