Drawn from the ancient civilization hidden in the Indus Valley thousands of years ago, Gandhara is aptly named to bring out the cultural significance the store has to offer.With a need to cater to Sri Lankan artists and art lovers alike, Dian Gomes, proprietor of Gandhara envisioned a creative haven for artists.

He brought his idea to life with his very own house of art in 2004. Along with traditional Sri Lankan art, sculptures and crafts, items and artefacts from Africa, Tibet, Cambodia, Peru, Laos, Burma and Thailand among other countries are tastefully displayed across three-storeys at the main Gandhara store. Also adding to the collection are contemporary lamps, vases, plush sofas, aromatic candles, antique and modern furniture as well as stunning European glassware.
