Jaffna Public Library

After the Jaffna public Library was destroyed, the Municipal Council decided to decentralize the library services. A decision was taken to open Branches Library Services in several places to safeguard the book collection and to give full services to all ratepayers of the Municipal Council. It was also decided to enrich the Branch Libraries in a particular field. According to this decision, every Branch Library is specialized in a field.
