About Kwame Nkrumah University
Nkrumah University was established in March 1967. The college initially was called Kabwe Teachers College, the name derived from the town in which it is located in Zambia. In April 1971, the college was officially opened by the first Zambian President David Kaunda and the name was changed to Nkrumah Teachers College in recognition and honour of the late first President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah.
