Satavahana University

In the erstwhile Hyderabad State, Karimnagar had the distinction of starting the first Higher Secondary School in the year 1944-45. With a gap of eleven years the district had the distinction of starting the First Degree College in this region in the year 1956. After passing of time i.e., two and a half decades the Satavahana Institute of Post Graduate Studies was started with M.A. Economics and M.Com in 1980 under the direction of Sri K.S. Sharma, Sri V. Kondal Rao and Sri V. Rama Rao.
